Coach Dave Randall is the founder of North American Hockey Systems, Inc.
Coach Randall brings more than 45 years of year round teaching experience to NAHS. While originally from Barrie, Ontario, his family has owned and operated an ice rink in Troy, NY for over 53 years. Since giving his first lesson in 1974, and officially opening his hockey skating and skills school in 1978, Dave has also worked summer hockey schools for Bill Dineen, former coach of the Adirondack Red Wings and the Philadelphia Flyers. He was also the skating coach for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institutes men’s ice hockey team in the late 1980’s. His school has provided instruction to more than 31,000+ students over the years.
In addition to private and group lessons held at the Troy facility, Coach Randall has provided learn to skate, learn to play hockey and advanced skill programs to the following organizations:
Coach Ryan Secor is a full-time Coach with NAHS.
Coach Ryan Secor has been involved in NAHS for over 25 years. A native of Rensselaer, NY, he grew up playing AAA hockey in the Capitol District and eventually went on to Nazareth College to NCAA Division III Men’s Hockey.
Ryan has also spent the last 15 years with North American Hockey Systems working with youth hockey to professional players to develop their games. He has developed several players that have gone on to be drafted in USHL, USA Development Program, NCAA Division I, NCAA Division III and Women National Team.
Ryan in 2022-2023 was an Assistant Coach in the USHL with the Madison Capitals under the current USHL Fargo Force Associate Head Coach, Corey Lievermann. Prior to joining the Madision Capitals, he spent three season in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He spent one season coaching in the USPHL for the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Knights, and two season with Wilkes University as Assistant Coach and Director of Scouting.
Coach David Randall ll is a full-time Coach with NAHS.
Coach Randall II played NY Capital Region Youth Hockey, Shaker High School in Colonie, NY & North Country Community College in Saranac Lake, NY. He has worked the past eight years as a full-time skills instructor and 13 years part-time prior. He’s attended 10+ years training at North American Hockey Systems, and as a youth player also attended Turcotte Stick-Handling School & Smushkin’s Hockey School in Toronto. He has also attended higher educational developmental programs with Anthony Robins.
In addition to the regular staff, NAHS utilizes the talents of a number of high school players, collegiate players, and local coaches to assist in running classes and programs.
All of these individuals have attended for many years and several have graduated from NAHS. Many have gone on to coach regional junior and select teams as well as college programs. The ability to draw upon the considerable talent of these individuals assures that every player receives the best instruction and attention possible.
